Mother’s Day is Not the Same Without Mom!

Problem:

An elderly couple were at the same Southwest Florida facility for complications due to their elderly state. The family desired to have them home in Ohio so that they could spend more time together and celebrate both Mother’s and Father’s day as a family.

How could they ensure that they would be transported together and arrive safely at their destination!

Solution:

Call Air Trek!

That is exactly what their take-charge daughter did.

After reviewing a list of Air Ambulance providers given to her by the facility, the couple’s daughter (who is also a nurse) chose to take a further look at Air Trek. She examined Air Trek’s website (www.medjets.com) to familiarize herself with the company and see what they could do for her.

She made a phone call and spoke with one of Air Trek’s Senior Flight Coordinators. Later that day, the daughter, her siblings, and one of our Senior Flight Coordinators had a teleconference to further discuss the transport and make sure that this was the best course of action for the entire family.

Air Trek proved to be exactly what the family was in search of. We have the capability of providing a double stretcher transport making it possible for the husband and wife to travel together.

The journey home began when Air Trek’s medical transport team arrived at the Southwest Florida facility. Both the husband and wife were transported from the facility via ground ambulance to the local airport where our medical team boarded them onto the aircraft. Our team was by their side throughout the entire flight ensuring that the couple was comfortable and safe during the transport.

Upon arriving in Ohio, the couple was again transported by way of a ground ambulance to the nursing home where they were to share a room.

At Air Trek we have many fond memories of special patients and air ambulance flights that stand out in our 36 year history. This flight in particular demonstrates the unique benefits of our dual stretcher/double patient capabilities.
